Small Batch Baking Company's babka is not your bubbe's babka but a reinterpretation of the old-world, yeast-based bread for modern tastes. Our product is a more convenient version of the traditional loaf, packing loads of flavor into a snack-sized treat. It satisfies your taste buds in two or three bites -- and at the same time, makes you feel like you just received a warm embrace from your grandmother.

The company was co-founded by Susan Friedburg and Sheryl Blackwell, two moms who bonded over their little boys, common Jewish upbringing, and a shared childhood fave – babka – when they met at a baby yoga class in New Hampshire in 2011. Sheryl moved back to Durham – for the third time -- in the summer of 2014, and the company now operates out of both states.
