Changes color as it ripens on the vine. When it's skin is dark green, it has a mild clean taste; when it's skin ripens to dark brown with a sweet spicy aroma, ideal for salads; As it ripens to dark red, it becomes more juicy and particularly sweet due to its high fructose level. It has been popular in Europe for a number of years.
