Papa Spuds Meat Share


At Papa Spud’s, our goal is to provide access to fresh, high quality, and sustainably raised whole food products from farmers around our state – and to do so in a way that makes them accessible and affordable to families throughout our community. With this goal in mind, we are experimenting with a new meat distribution system that we hope will make humane and sustainably raised local meat products more competitively priced with feedlot meats at the grocery store. We feel very strongly that feedlot meats are bad for our health, bad for our environment, and bad for the animals themselves. As such, we want to do everything that we can to help our community move away from this method of meat production, and back into pasture-based meat production as nature intended.

Here’s how it will work:
Next Wednesday morning (9/28), we will list a large variety of beef, pork, chicken, and seafood options that we have available to us from our partners across the state. All Papa Spud’s customers will then have the option to access the system and purchase those products. This will be a separate ordering period from our usual Tuesday/Wednesday produce deliveries, and is completely optional. It will only include meats, and there will be a $50 minimum purchase (all meats except seafood are frozen, so you can store products in the freezer). All orders will be delivered Sunday, October 2nd. You will be required to leave out a cooler for delivery. This system will reduce costs on our end, and allow us to pass those savings on to you – with prices that are comparable if not cheaper than the grocery store alternative, despite being better for you, better for our environment, and better for the animals themselves.
