Hakurei Salad Turnips
Hakurei Salad Turnips are not your run-of-the-mill average turnip! Their flavor is sweet, slightly earthy, and crisp-- not spicy or
bitter like standard purple top turnips. The light, peppery, sweetness of Hakurei Turnips shines through in a salad, but they are
also great cooked lightly in stir-fries and soups. The greens are very edible, just wash, chop and steam, or stir fry. In Japan,
Hakurei Turnips are often pickled. You can make a quick pickle by adding a teaspoon of vinegar (rice or white wine) and several pinches
of salt to a bowl of sliced turnips.
