Fresh Okra
Okra is as southern as kudzu and sweet tea! A member of the hibiscus family, okra thrives in the
scorching heat of humid summers and probably originated from Africa. If you think you don't like
cooked okra, you probably haven't tried it fried! While boiling or stewing brings out certain
gumminess, dry heat and quick cooking results in a crunchy texture like green beans.
